More than 210 enthusiasts have attended last Saturday the the J·Juan Racing event held during the Spanish round of the MotoGP at the Jerez circuit. The event, called ‘Apurando la Frenada‘ (or Adjusting Brakes) was involving enthusiasts into ride a bike equipped with two small wheels on the sides and to move for 50 meters, reaching at least 40 km/h speed and stop in the shortest distance possible. Do you think it is was simple test? Absolutely not, because many of the attending riders had not enough adequate speed or braking timing. The need for expertise in braking stung the “motards” that were cited in the circuit and only a matter of time prevented the number of participants will expand considerably.

The winner was a Sevillian guy, 38 years old, Manuel Garamendi Acevedo, who stopped the bike in just 5.70 meters. Only 8 participants stopped with the 7 meters of distance. Second place was also for a Sevillian but living in Cabezas de San Juan, Antonio Moreno Chapel, 36 years old, who set a mark at 5.75 meters. The third, Juan Ignacio Jericò Asìn, 36 years old, from the Navarran town of Peralta, stopped the bike at 6.15 meters.

But there were two categories in the test: the famale one has been won by Raquel Perez Munoz from Benalmadena (Malaga) while the journalists one had as winner José Benavente, director of the magazine Motorbike Spain.

The test was organized by J·Juan, the second European factory of motorcycles braking systems, promoting in this occasion its Racing Division: J·Juan Racing. For the event, J·Juan Racing counted on two Kawasaki 600 provided by Parcmotor Castellolí supporting the organization with Juan Manuel Rísquez, renowned professor and riding instructor of the Mossos de Escuadra. Juan Manuel has been supported during the event by the insuperable Javier del Amor -professional rider in the Spanish camphionship and also tester for J·Juan Group-, in addition to the collaboration of Mari Angeles Juan -General Director of J·Juan-, Juan Antonio Cuadrado -Director of J·Juan Brake Systems-, Albert Prats and Carlos Sanchez and obviously by two beautiful hostesses.
